“From Within” Vietnam Documentary Class Group

“From Within” Vietnam Documentary Class Group is a 3604s length video by Glynn Beard posted on Vimeo on 2011-08-21 19:40:51.

“From Within” is the latest documentary film from the annual documentary class that travels to a different country each year and produces a book, a documentary and several gallery showings each year.

This visually stunning documentary shows us a Vietnam that goes against the image of the black and white photos from the Vietnam war era in the American psyche. It shows us a colourful and culturally rich country, where more than half of the population was born after the Vietnamese civil war ended almost 30 years ago. The stories are personal and driven by a human connection between the photographers and filmmakers and the Vietnamese people.

Two of the Visual Journalism students who travelled to Vietnam, Marina Dominguez and Melissa Forsythe, are interviewed in this episode of the Brooks Cinema Cafe and tell of how their view of Vietnam and the world changed with their trip to the country.
